
The world premiere of Ivan Pavljutškov’s youth film Morten will take place at the beginning of July at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic.
Celebrating its 60th edition, Karlovy Vary is an internationally certified A-list festival, ranking among the top film events globally. A total of 40 films will be screened in this year’s line-up, with Morten featured as part of a special non-competitive selection.
Morten is a coming-of-age story told through magical realism, focusing on a teenage boy whose world changes completely when two girls enter his life. The film stars Tõru Kannimäe, Helena Maria Reisner and Emili Rohumaa in the leading roles, alongside Külli Teetamm, Andres Mähar, Gert Raudsep and Priit Loog.
The screenplay is written by Reeli Reinaus, with cinematography by Ants Tammik, production design by Ketlin Kasar and costume design by Neoon Must. The film is produced by Kopli Kinokompanii in co-production with Lithuania's Fralita Films, produced by Anneli Ahven, and distributed by ACME Film.
Morten will be released in Estonian cinemas in autumn 2026.
